Playing outside helps children to let off steam and regular breaks are known to aid concentration, so it can be frustrating for children to be confined indoors by the UK's famously unpredictable climate. Here at Canopies UK, we offer a great number of outdoor canopies which allow pupils, staff and parents to escape the rain and snow as well as offering a place to shelter from the sun. Our GRP (fibreglass) school canopies offer summer and winter benefits; they are able to withstand substantial wind and snow loading making for much safer conditions underfoot, but they also incorporate a translucent UV filter - providing a valuable shield against sunburn.

Canopies UK specialises in System 2000 Cantilever Canopies which eliminate the need for obstructive vertical supports - making them a health and safety dream - so there is nothing for children to run into. These self-supporting canopies are immensely strong (tested to BS 6399) and virtually maintenance-free. They can be designed to fit practically any space, just give us a call to chat about your school's requirements.

In September 2003 the Government announced an action plan to encourage schools to tackle the rising number of cars used on the school run. As a result, capital grants were made available to help fund structures such as bicycle shelters and parent waiting shelters. To receive a grant you are required to put in place a School Travel Plan and we are more than happy to assist you. Similarly there are Capital grants available from your Local Authority.
There are numerous grants, with new ones becoming available all the time. Please visit our funding page or contact us to find out more. We are more than happy to offer any assistance you may require in completing the forms.
