Over the last few years, the number of our playground canopies being installed at schools has increased dramatically and we have now installed thousands since 1990.
They are ideal for creating covered play areas, parent shelters or covered walkways. The freestanding concept means not only do you gain more space, but you can have a purpose built canopy where access is restricted.
Manufactured from GRP (more commonly known as fibreglass), they are vandal resistant, incredibly strong and self coloured so no ongoing maintenance or painting is required.
The translucent roofing sheets allow plenty of daylight through whilst the Melinex coating used in manufacture means that harmful UV rays are filtered out protecting the children from sunburn - making our school playground canopies the perfect solution whatever the weather.
In addition they have been fully tested to withstand severe wind and snow loadings wind and snow loadings.
There will no doubt be a school in your area that has had one of our canopies installed and we are sure they would have no hesitations in recommending our company.
In September 2003 the Government announced an action plan to encourage schools to tackle the rising number of cars used on the school run. As a result, capital grants have been made available to help fund structures such as bicycle shelters and parent waiting shelters.
To receive a grant you are required to put a School Travel Plan in place and we're more than happy to assist you with your plan. Please contact us for further information.
Your Local Borough Council will employ a School Travel Advisor to assist you in putting your School Travel Plan together. For more information about School Travel Plans and to find out who your School Travel Advisor is, please visit the Sustrans website.
